When and where is the Cornerstone Christian Auction this year?
This year, the auction is being held online only. Bidding for all auction items will take place online. Please see the support section of the CCA website for the auction link. Bidding will open Friday, April 17th, at 10:00 PM, and will close Saturday, April 18th, at 10:00 PM.
What items are being auctioned this year?
We have an exciting new element added to the auction this year – Buy Now parties. The parties are parent-hosted themed parties for kids or adults. We are also bringing back class projects. But these are not your typical class projects. You will want to make these projects part of your home décor. Our focus is on making traditions out of these parties and projects, just like our famous teacher times. Also, this will be the first time all of our families have the opportunity to purchase the Free Dress Pass, where CCA students do not have to dress in uniform for one week in May. We will have our traditional teacher times and bid board items as well.
When can I start viewing the auction items?
You may start viewing auction items on March 18th. However, bidding will not begin until Friday, April 17th, at 10:00 PM. Auction items will continue to be posted throughout the month.
When can I register to bid?
You may register to bid at any time; however, you cannot bid on auction items until the auction has opened for bidding.
How do I register to bid?
Go to the auction website and click on Register.
Do I have to have a credit card to bid?
For security purposes, bidders must have a credit card on file with Bidding for Good in order to place a bid. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted.
How do I bid on items?
Make sure you have registered and are logged in. You also must have a credit card on file to bid.
To place a bid, simply type in the amount in the bid box. Select the Type of Bidding you would like to use. See Types of Bidding for more information on Straight (Exactly this amount) and Proxy (Up to this amount) bids. Click Confirm Bid. Done!
You will know right away if you are in the lead, or if another bidder's maximum (proxy) bid was still higher than yours. If you are in the lead, you will receive an email letting you know if you've been outbid so you can bid again!
Types of Bidding
Bid up to this amount - Maximum Bidding (aka Proxy Bidding)
The goal of maximum bidding, also known as proxy bidding, is for you to win the auction item at the lowest possible price by placing bids on your behalf at the lowest possible increments up to a maximum amount you set. Simply enter the highest amount you are willing to pay and the system will bid for you as prompted by other bids. You will be notified by email if your maximum bid is outbid.
You can always increase your Maximum Bid until the item's Online Close, even when you are the leading bidder.
Note: Bidders are allowed to bid any amount as long as it is higher than the current Minimum Bid, so there are times when the Leading Bid may appear to be "off-increment", but is still a valid bid.
Example: An item's Leading Bid is $25.00, and the bid increment is $5.00. If you choose proxy bidding and enter a Maximum Bid of $50.00, and there is not another maximum bid, you become the high bidder and the Leading Bid reads $30.00.
Bid this exact amount (Straight Bidding)
A Straight Bid will be applied immediately at the exact amount the bidder specifies. It will become the new Leading Bid unless another bidder has an existing higher Proxy Bid. As the auction continues, you will be notified by email if you are outbid.
Example: If the current high bid is $10.00, and you enter a straight bid of $150.00, and there is no existing higher proxy bid, you become the current leading bidder at $150.00.
How do I see my current/active bids?
Log in to your bidder account. Click on the My Items link at the top of the page. Click on the My Bids tab. The My Bids page shows a bidder's current bids as well as any bid on an item that has not yet been awarded (it can take a few days after an item closes to move to My Purchases).
How does the Buy Now option work?
The Buy Now option allows you to immediately purchase an item, rather than bidding and waiting until the auction close time. Buy Now parties, select class projects and free dress passes will have a set number available for purchase and so will have a Buy Now option. If you wish to purchase multiple quantities of a Buy Now item, click the Buy Now button the number of times that corresponds with the quantity you wish to purchase.
